Welcome to our school, St Mary and St Andrew’s, which is a Voluntary Aided
Catholic Primary School serving the parishes of St Mary’s, Barton and St
Andrew’s, Cottam. In addition, we admit children from the surrounding districts
when places are available.
Our
school is a Christ-centred community in which each individual, with his/her
unique talents and personality, is valued. We provide a happy, secure and
stimulating environment where we aim to inspire, challenge and support our
pupils to achieve their full potential and to grow into independent and
responsible young people.
We
firmly believe that we can only achieve the best for your child by a close
co-operation between home and school. There will be many opportunities for you
to share in your child’s education and we do hope that you will work with us to
make this a happy and successful period in your child’s life.
Should you have any further
questions you wish to ask or should you wish to visit the school with a view to
seeking a place for your child, please telephone 01772x862335 for an appointment.
St Mary and St Andrew’s school comes under the
auspices of the Lancaster RC Diocese. The website is:

– An Overview
The 'Moodle'
section of our website is a Virtual Learning Environment for our pupils and it is
therefore a restricted area.
While anyone can view
the Home Page of the section, a user name and password is required
to gain access beyond that.
The children are
learning how to use Moodle in their ICT (Information and
Communications Technology) lessons and they have all been given
their own unique user name and password to enable them to use the
facility at home.
Currently, our Moodle
section is very much a 'Work in Progress' but members of the
teaching staff are looking forward to developing and expanding the
scope over a period of time.
