Welcome
  to our school

Thank you for visiting our website.  St Mary and St Andrew’s is a smaller than average Catholic Primary School  situated in the North of Preston.   Although we are just a couple of hundred metres from the A6, the school is set in an idyllic rural location and is surrounded by beautiful Lancashire countryside.

We are proud of our reputation for excellence in the community; our children achieve both academic and sporting success and we often receive favourable comments about the children's manners, appearance and zest for life. Visitors often remark on the calm, family centred feel of the school and how they are greeted with a smile, by staff and children alike.  As our mission statement says:

"We support each other to be the best we can be, to secure bright futures for everyone."

Our school is a Christ-centred community in which each individual, with their unique talents and personality, is valued. We provide a happy, secure and stimulating environment where we aim to inspire, challenge and support our pupils to achieve their full potential and to grow into independent and responsible individuals, who are confident to meet their next stage in life.

There will be many opportunities for you to share in your child’s education.  We know that education isn't simply about what happens in school and as such we work with you to make this a happy and successful period in your child’s life, filled with wonderful memories and friends.

We have close links with both of our parishes (St Mary’s, Barton and St Andrew’s, Cottam).  The children regularly attend  and take part in services and we are blessed to be supported by our two parish priests.

Should you have any further questions, or wish to visit the school with a view to seeking a place for your child, please telephone Mrs Hayley Matthews on 01772 862335 for an appointment.

Every day is an 'Open Day' here and you are welcome to see our rural jewel.
